I think these could be a good starting point for your design. These documents (like CS 23, the certification specification for very light aircrafts) hold all the required values your plane would need to have with some explanation on how to obtain these. In any case I would suggest to look up the FAA or CS documents on the type of aircraft you want to make. If you do manage to get like Catia (what we used on our Uni) or any other CAD program then that’d be awesome to toy around in, but probably also quite time consuming to learn (fun though).įor your project it sounds like the physics part of the design might be more doable, like calculating the required lift, which wings could give you that and calculations on center of gravity and so on. Getting software for drawing might be difficult (for free that is). Hi OP, I’ll follow Jack here in his recommendation.
